| SKIP THIS IF YOU WANT THE SHORT AND SWEET VERSION: Well, I was going to sell my 1991 N/A to fund my relocation to Alberta (from ontario). It's been running well with no problems... Untill now. I brought it out of winter storage and did you usual tune up on it. It was running a bit rough but the gas had been in there all winter. Drove her down to Sunoco and filled her up with some Ultra 94. The idle smoothed out and she felt a lot better. On my way home she started knocking! At first i was hoping it was just a stuck lifter... Please... nope... Now its getting louder and harder. I pulled it off the road and checked it over compleatly. MEAT AND POTATOES: Timming : 15* Fuel pressure: 45psi power balance test: ok injectors ohm: ok coil pack ohm: ok Vacc Leak test: 2 small leaks fixed spark plugs: look good (sandy brown) Spark gap: 0.044" Ecu: Code 55 (ok) Compression test: max:186psi min:136psi cyl 1: 165psi cyl 2: 120 <--- well this is no fucking good! cyl 3: 150 cyl 4: 140 <--- more than 14 psi diff cyl 5: 150 cyl 6: 180 so in pretty sure the drivers side is shot. Now comes the big question. TO CONVERT? OR NOT TO CONVERT? I'm looking to get out of this as cheep and as fast as possible. How much am I looking at to fix this engine? and is it worth my time (considering im trying to move) and money to convert it? I'm sure it will sell for more if its converted. everything else in the car is new. Any suggestions? Thanks David Newiger
